Courthouse Overview
Compton Courthouse anchors a confirmed four-city cluster — Compton, Carson, Lynwood, and Paramount all route here directly, along with the surrounding unincorporated county areas. The county's own locator describes the building's jurisdiction in exactly those terms.
The courthouse sits at 200 W. Compton Boulevard, near the 91 and 710 corridors. All four cluster cities are Sheriff-served: Compton and Carson through Compton Station and South LA-area stations, Lynwood and Paramount through their own contract coverage. There is no city-run jail in this cluster, so a booking goes to an LASD station first.
Lynwood is the exception worth naming: Century Regional Detention Facility, the county's dedicated women's jail, sits at 11705 S. Alameda Street in Lynwood. A woman arrested anywhere in the county can end up housed there, which is why families in this cluster often find their relative closer to home than expected.
Bail set at the county schedule can be posted before any of it reaches a courtroom. The earlier that happens, the less of the transfer-and-processing queue anyone has to sit through.
What We Have Not Confirmed
- Phone number: three variants surfaced across research — (310) 605-4011, (310) 605-4065, and (310) 761-4300. We publish (310) 761-4300 because it is the number on the Superior Court's own courthouse contact list; the 605 numbers appear to be older or department-specific lines.
- Parking rates were not independently confirmed this research pass.

How To Post Bail At Compton Courthouse
The starting bail figure comes from the Los Angeles Superior Court’s felony and misdemeanor bail schedule, adopted under Penal Code §1269b, and review or reduction of that figure runs under Penal Code §1270.1.
Bail moves in two stages. At booking, the county schedule applies administratively — no judge involved, postable immediately. At the first court appearance, a judicial officer reviews that figure and can leave it, raise it, reduce it, or grant own-recognizance release.
Posting before that hearing isn’t a gamble. If the court later reduces bail, the premium is already earned — but the defendant spent the intervening days at home rather than in custody. If bail is increased instead, having posted early is exactly why they weren’t in custody for the hearing.
The bond itself is posted at the facility physically holding the defendant, not at a courthouse counter. We handle that. What we need to start: a full legal name, a date of birth, and a short cosigner conversation.
Every bond is issued by a California Department of Insurance-licensed agent under Cal. Ins. Code §1800, at the statutory 10% premium — as low as 1% down on approved credit.
If A Court Date Here Is Missed
A missed appearance at Compton Courthouse can mean a forfeited bond and a bench warrant the same day, with a limited statutory window to bring the defendant back before forfeiture becomes a judgment against the cosigner.
