North Justice Center — North county criminal and traffic filings
North Justice Center is Fullerton's own courthouse and the criminal and traffic courthouse for north Orange County. The Orange County Superior Court's Court Designation List assigns Anaheim, Brea, Buena Park, Fullerton, La Habra, La Palma, Placentia and Yorba Linda here — eight cities, including the largest city in the county.
Those eight are a mix of arresting agencies. Anaheim, Brea, Buena Park, Fullerton, La Habra, La Palma and Placentia all run independent police departments, while Yorba Linda contracts with the Orange County Sheriff's Department. The arresting agency changes where the first hours of custody happen; it does not change which courthouse the filing lands at.
One caution worth stating plainly: North and West Justice Centers are the two north-and-central-county courthouses, and it is easy to assume the wrong one from geography. The designation list is the source that settles it, and the notice to appear is the final word.
